i'm gia vang and i'm terry mcsweeney. we begin tonight with developing news out of the south bay. the sheriff's office is investigating a crash. a crash involving a deputy. it all started this afternoon. just after 1230. the santa clara county sheriff's office says deputies tried to stop a gold lexus for speeding in san jose. that was near berryessa road and north capitol avenue. the driver did not stop, led deputies on a chase throughout east san jose and during that chase, one of the deputies crashed into another car, a toyota suv. now that crash happened near king road and commodore drive, four people were inside that car, all taken to the hospital. all expected to be okay. the deputy involved also had some minor injuries. the sheriff's office says the 24 year old driver deputies were chasing intentionally hit a patrol vehicle. deputies used spike strips to stop his car. he did try to run away, but deputies caught up with him and arrested him. an east bay community is coming together to remember a family killed in a tragic crash. a memorial organized by friends and community me

i'm terry mcsweeney and i'm gia vang. tonight, the pleasanton community continues to grapple with a tragic loss. a family of four, including two children killed in a fiery crash last week. well, today, classmates, teachers and friends gathered to remember them as nbc bay area's alyssa goard explains their sudden deaths have rocked families in this community. but maybe a minute of silence at valley vista park in pleasanton, the community came together to process the unthinkable. wednesday night, a family of four was driving on foothill road near stone ridge in their vinfast electric car. police say the driver apparently lost control and jumped a curb and collided with a tree before bursting into flames. all four died in the crash. investigators say speed may have been a factor. the coroner has not confirmed the identities of the victims, but friends tell us they are the george family. dad, tarun, mom renee and their sons. rowan, an eighth grader at hart middle school, and aaron, a second grader at donlon elementary. i stil
